Senior defensive lineman Evan Rios has been playing football ever since he was young. He will be one of 36 seniors recognized before Friday night’s last home game against Lubbock High School.
The Rider Chronicle talked to Rios about his favorite memories during his final high school football season and what he has planned for after graduation.
Q: How does it feel to be playing in Rider’s last year?
A: It feels special and it’s something I’ll remember for the rest of my life, all the memories with all of my teammates.
Q: What made you want to join football?
A: Well really, I’ve been playing it since I was little so I was influenced by my dad.
Q: What will you miss the most about high school football?
A: I’ll miss the brotherhood and the family aspect of football and all of the friends and memories we have together.
Q: How long have playing football?
A: I’ve played ever since I was in fifth grade.
Q: What is your favorite memory from football?
A: My favorite memory is the Rider vs. Old High game this year.
Q: Why was the Rider vs Old High Game your favorite memory?
A: I would say the rivalry aspect and also the preparation we did beforehand.
