Lip sync’s ‘Camera Roll’ takes center stage
The Rider Theatre department is putting on their 24th annual lip sync show, “Camera Roll” this weekend.
It will be performed this Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at the door and they are $5 for students and $10 for adults.
“It’s an eye-opening show,” senior Rachel Goodner said. “A lot of people when they think of theatre they think of plain, simple, boring shows. I think it could really open their perspectives.”
Lip Goodner is performing in three songs and directing the Lady Gaga song “Telephone.”
“I got to act in it a lot last year and that was really fun, but this year I’ve really loved directing and I’ve just had so much fun with my cast,” Goodner said.
Senior Abby Crutchfield is performing four songs and is also directing “Play that Funky Music” by Wild Cherry. She has enjoyed being able to make her vision as a director come to life onstage.
“It’s so awesome and it’s so fun,” Crutchfield said. “People will love it if they come.”
The theme “Camera Roll” is songs that remind the directors of moments they wish they could freeze forever or songs that remind them of a picture in their personal camera roll.
