Q/A with senior color guard leader Macy Love

Senior night is approaching this Friday, and many organizations will recognize the Class of 2022 on the field during this annual tradition. The Rider Chronicle is having a series of Q/As with the leaders of each organization this week.
Senior color guard section leader Macy Love discussed her role and why she adores her teammates.
Q: How long have you been in color guard and why have you stayed this long?
A: Since I was a freshman and just because I like the environment, it’s become like a family to me.
Q: What makes color guard special for you?
A: Just the fact that it has been like my family, they just took me under their wing as a freshman and it just makes high school a little bit better I guess.
Q: What do you want to accomplish your senior year?
A: Just maintaining a good attitude throughout the guards, because I am section leader. And just doing my best.
Q: What’s your favorite memory of color guard?
A: Going to Odessa and staying in the hotel.
Q: What will you miss once you leave?
A: The people for sure.
Q: What have you learned about being in color guard?
A: I’ve definitely gained a lot of confidence and I learned how to work as a team, I guess a lot of teamwork.
Q: How have you changed since your freshman year and why?
A: I’m much more confident, I can talk to people way easier and I’ve just become way more hard working.
Q: Last message to your team.
A: Just try your best in everything you do.
