With Valentine’s Day this week, the Rider Chronicle sat down to interview many Rider couples about their relationship.

Seniors Daine Wilson and Karina Murillo have been together for almost a year with their anniversary approaching in March. They discussed favorite memories, what annoys their partner and getting ready to go off to college in this Q/A.

Q: How did you meet your partner?

K: We had friends in common, so we just kind of met through them.

D: I met her through a friend of mine. I started to get to know a friend at first and then he introduced me to her.

Q: Can you describe your partner for me in your own words?

K: He’s really goofy. But, he’s really nice and sweet and a good person.

D: Oh, man. She’s so pretty. Her curly hair is just… I could just play with it all day long. Her smile is just so amazing, she’s just an all-around amazing person.

Q: When did you realize you wanted to date your partner?

K: We kind of already knew that we liked each other whenever we started talking and hanging out. So, kind of right away, I knew that I liked him.

D: Well, I’d actually known of her for a really, really long time. She’s kind of been that crush that I’ve had in the back of my head. So, once I got the opportunity to ever be with her, I took it.

Q: How did y’all start dating?

K: We went on a date to Menchie’s and then we just went driving around. The we sat and we talked, then he asked me to be his girlfriend.

D: Well, we talked at first. And, before summer time, we actually hung out a lot. Then, we went to things like Celebration together and things like that. Once we got to know each other more, we started dating.

Q: How long have you two been together?

K: It’s about to be 11 months in a few days.

D: It’ll be 11 months on the 18th.

Q: What is your favorite memory with your partner?

K: Halloween. We watched scary movies and we made those cheesy Halloween cookies that everybody makes. It was pretty fun.

D: My favorite memory of her? Honestly, I could just pick any day throughout the summer. I mean, any moment I got to spend with her throughout the summer. If I had to pick one, it would be after she got back from her vacation because I missed her so much.

Q: Do y’all have any plans for Valentine’s Day?

K: Yes, but… I don’t want to spoil what I’m getting him.

D: I don’t know yet. We’re kind of discussing that right now.

Q: What’s something you do that annoys your partner?

K: Oh, probably so much. I like to pick on him a lot, so that’s probably what annoys him the most.

D: I tickle her on the top of her knee a lot. That gets on her nerves.

Q: Does your partner do anything to annoy you?

K: Yeah, but he’s goofy so it’s not really annoying.

D: She’ll call me “Diane” because that’s how a lot of people mispronounce my name.

Q: Have y’all talked about what you’re going to do after you graduate?

K: We’re both going to the same college, so we’re just kind of hoping for the best after that.

D: I mean, somewhat. We’re attending the same college, so that’s about where we’re at right now.
