Virtual Love
Five tips on a long-distance relationship.
The chills you get when their hands accidentally touch yours, the sparkle in their eyes you only notice up close. A smile slowly takes over their face when they see you, knowing that it’s there because of you and becoming aware that an even bigger one is already accompanying yours.
Their distinct smell that you can identify anywhere slowly embraces your nose as you embrace them, the feeling of them wrapped up in your arms, making you feel at home, and every other good memory you can imagine. How could you experience all of that when the only time you see your significant other on the other side of a screen? When the only memories you can make now are virtual?
Here are some good tips to think about when considering a long-distance relationship.
- If you no longer enjoy talking to your partner call it quits. You and your partner have different life goals.
- You have boring conversations. If you feel like you can’t sit for hours talking to your significant other, then the relationship is not worth it.
- If you can’t decide between them or someone else who is closer, choose the closer one. besides you wouldn’t be thinking about someone else if you truly felt like they were your destined partner. It’s okay to be attracted to someone else, but if it’s at the point where you think about them a lot more than your current relationship partner, then you should already know what to do.
- If you can’t see a future with your partner, don’t draw out the relationship, you only live once, make the most of it as you can.
- Trust is one of the most important qualities in a relationship, long distance or not. If you have thoughts where you feel like your significant other is hiding something from you, or is being ‘ friendly” to someone else, confront them about it. A relationship without trust is a beacon for disaster.
