Looking for a good haunted house this Halloween? Here are some helpful tips on a few in and around Wichita Falls.
Sunrise Optimist Club teamed up with Rider’s FFA and softball teams to put on a creepy haunted maze behind Memorial Stadium. Not suggested for children under ten. Ending at 10 p.m. on Halloween night, this might be your last chance to let your friends scare you out of your wits. Trust me it scared me and my companions half to death. The maze includes zombies waiting to follow you around the dark maze, fanged clowns popping out of boxes, and many more scary creatures that creep out of the walls when you least expect it. They also have carnival games and a concession stand for extra fun and a little less scare. All in all, I give this haunted maze an 8 on the creepy meter.
The Boys and Girls Club is hosting its 34th annual Chamber of Horrors haunted house at the downtown facility. This house has high expectations to repeat their previous years of frighting kids and adults across the city. Kids volunteer to dress up as creepy creatures and scare their friends and family and the occasional first time stranger. If you’re looking for a safe and scary haunted house for your little brother or sister this Halloween, this is the place to be.
Haunted hay ride any one? In Charlie, TX, the town is hosting a haunted hay ride until this Wednesday. (Not recommended for kids under 14). It’s $18, but well worth the money. For a good 45 minutes, you ride around while ghouls, zombies, witches, and every other nightmare you can think of jumps near and on the trailer while others creep from trees and bushes at random moments. After your ride, you walk a short distance to a haunted house that is equally as scary. This haunted hay ride is well worth the cost and the trip down.
If you’re looking for something a little more classy and scary, then “A Victorian Halloween” at the Kell House is where you need to be. From 6 p.m. to 10p.m. Oct. 31st, the Kell House will be open to tours and scary stories of the Victorian residents who lived there many years ago that might just be real. This house is not recommended for children and is only $5. This includes a hot dog meal and a scary good time. As a regular to the Victorian Halloween haunted house I can personally say that you will be thoroughly entertained and maybe even a little suspicious that the old residents’ ghosts are with you throughout the night.
