There are several different kinds of energy drinks. Some give you five hours of pure adrenalin, some give you wings, and others make you crash. Although, a Monster, when you’re really tired in the morning before school, usually will wake you up, by third period, it’s over. You’re ready to sleep for days. I think if you’re going to drink energy drinks you shouldn’t drink them very often. And, only drink them if you have a somewhat good reason.
I was going to a family reunion last summer and I drank six Red Bulls because my cousin dared me to, and I didn’t get sick. I was up for 26 hours straight with the worst chest pains I had ever had. I don’t drink them very much, but when I do, it’s bad. Probably because you’re not supposed to drink six at one time. But come on, the label clearly states that fact. Used as directed, they’re harmless.
Energy drinks make it possible to stay awake for some people because they stay up all night, trying to crunch in last minute studying. So, to stay conscious the next day, the student takes an energy drink to school, drinks it, then is good to go. That shouldn’t become a habit, though. It should just be an every once in a while thing because you shouldn’t make yourself stay awake that long anyway.
Some energy shots, such as Bing, Extreme Nos, and Celsius, can be better for you than the actual drink because they have vitamins in them. Such as Bing, Extreme Nos, and Celsius. Those are the so called “safer” drinks. Those shots of energy will give you a lot of vitamin B, which we need. They won’t make you crash as hard as the energy drinks without vitamins.
The opinion on energy drinks hasn’t been so positive the past few years, because yes, they can cause a caffeine addiction, heart palpitations, and terrible sleeping habits. In moderation, that isn’t the case. Even having a shot of energy drink every day won’t cause serious problems. It’s the two to three drinks a day that is becoming the issue. Caffeine addiction is the highest addiction in the United States. Coffee seems to be the other alternative to drinking energy drinks. Coffee is even worse than energy drinks. Drinking coffee every morning until about 11 a.m., is what most teachers, parents, and college students who don’t drink energy drinks do to get through the mornings. Without food, that’s no bueno. Although if you make it a habit, then your body might be used to it but that just means that it will start to not be enough for your body to stay awake. So, you’ll have to switch to energy drink plus coffee which is even worse. And after that it just gets harder and harder to find the energy you need to get through the day.
If you start your body off with one or two energy drinks a week, then you’ll be fine. Just remember, MODERATION, and don’t mix it with coffee.
