We have all been there. You are sitting in the backseat of a car going somewhere when you just realized your favorite show is on TV right now and you are missing it. "Dad, you did set the DVR to record Burn Notice didn't you?" "What's that?" "Did you set the DVR to record my show?" "No, I forgot." Well now Qualcomm has the answer for this problem. It is called to Flo TV and it is a small touch-screen device much like an iPhone that streams cable TV programming wirelessly on the go. It is a very handy device with instant access and an at a glance programming guide that makes flipping channels easy. The service is designed to be used night and day with live TV, as well as simmulcast and time-shifted programming. It also is used to watch FULL episodes of shows and not simply 30 second to 1 minute long clips. The device has 5 hours of battery life in viewing time and 300 hours of standby time. The device includes 4G's of memory for onboard music storage. Flo TV can also be streamed to your Verizon Wireless or AT&T phone and the service starts at $9 a month but when you by the mobile unit, the service is free for the first 6 months. The unit, however, has a very steep price at $250. This device is certainly useful but it is still unknown whether it will sell or not. The true test will be if it does well this holiday season.
